Add a Trend

A trend is a graphic that displays up to three variable values plotted over time.

Add a trend

  1. Click the Add button on the Nodes Explorer.

  2. On the Select Content to Add dialog, expand Misc and select Item Trend Popup Opaque or Item Trend Popup Transparent.

Guidelines

Some items to consider when creating and positioning trends.

  • Give trends a name that is directly connected to the related item whose value is represented. For example, TT001 ® TREND_TT001.

  • Trends are automatically created in front of camera position. To reduce positioning effort, move to the needed location before creating the trend. It is best to put a trend near the object whose value it represents.

  • Use orientation and scale to best fit trend positioning. If trend mode is set to popup2D, there is no need to reposition and scale the trend, because it is represented as an overlay image and not as a 3D element.

  • Add a mode user action if the autoscale needs to be provided as an option.

  • Trends support three variables display. When you need only one or two variables to display, you can disable var1_show or var2_show.
