Add a Sound

You can create and position sounds within the 3D scene.

Guidelines

Some items to consider when creating and positioning sounds.

  • Give the sound a name that is directly connected to the connected item. For example, P802 > SOUND_P802.

  • Sounds are automatically created in front of camera position. To reduce positioning effort, move to their source location nearby before creating the sound. Otherwise, copy and paste the position of the item they belong to.

  • Put sound type to sound value.

  • Select distance as attenuationType and put a valid distanceRay. Check in the 3D where the sound attenuation sphere ends to fit the desired hearing area.

  • The loops of item-related sounds are typically set to True so that their activation is driven by volume, not by start and stop events. In this case, ensure that the sound automatic start is set in the graphic context logic file.

Add a sound

  1. Click the Add button on the Nodes Explorer.

  2. On the Select Content to Add dialog, expand Multimedia, then Sounds, and select Sound Node.
