Limited release: This a limited release of XR. It does not contain all of the features and tools that are described in this documentation.

New features

These features are new or changed in the AVEVA™ XR 4.5.0 release.

  • Automatic Graphic Card selection system. By default, Application Configuration Settings for XR Studio and all its runtime components will now automatically detect the best graphic card to run against.

  • XR Viewer Graphics parameters provides the ability to render at any resolution, independently from the windows container.

  • User can now enable and disable the creation of automatic shares in Graphic Context files for training applications through a File menu.

  • Added log generation for XRViewerCloud, XR ViewerNX, and XR Remote Debugger. When run from XR Studio, corresponding logs will be found in the project folder to make debug easier.

  • Project Uplift interface to override project re-applying current project content settings.

  • Improvements for Animation Clip Editor workflow, including a better Project Uplift interface and new camera-related Features for Specific Node Types.

  • FGI management. Added the ability to move fgi sun/position and sun/target and to Features for Specific Node Types from contextual menu.

New nodes

  • TextEdit2D: A more evolved text visualization and editing component.

Modified nodes

These nodes have been modified or enhanced in this release.

  • GestureSensor: Made improvements and reconciliation of gestures across multiple supported platforms.

  • Line: Automatic scale and rendering priorities management.

  • MwxSoup and RFC: Added position to improve model composition functionalities.

  • Global: Has new fast function to get FPS performance.

  • Hotspot: Now has improved sorting and better integration between hotspots in mode2D and RectBase2D nodes.

Deprecated and Discontinued

Deprecated features

Functionality is marked as deprecated when a specific function or feature is still supported in the current release, but might be removed in a future release. We advise that you phase these features out of your projects and begin to use alternative features.

Discontinued features

  • Removed support for 3DVision and SLI rendering paths.

Security updates

We made the following security updates.

  • Refactored MessageBus Encryption system to support custom encryption keys.

  • Updated OPCFoundation Library References.

  • Removed MD5 usage for hashing to avoid automatic security scanners false flags.
