Animation conventions

These are common types of animations:

• Accident animations, such as fires, vapor, or liquid leaks.

• Item inspection animations, in which equipment is opened to see inside or a detailed part is shown as augmented reality.

Both types share the same basic needs and should follow the same good practice and conventions.

Animation design is usually a highly skilled craft that involves both scripting and graphic activities.

The following good practices are recommended.

• Develop separately

• Provide commands for interacting with the animation

• Use interpolators to drive transitions

• Provide activation and deactivation mechanism
