Creating and editing a key frame or a key event

After selecting the channel frames to work on, you can create or modify a key frame or a key event in three ways.

  • Frame set with Add button

  • Frame set by editing value in channels table

  • Frame set by recording functionality

Frame set with Add button

  • Press the Add button to create or update a keyframe or a key event.

The value assigned to the keyframe or key-event is defined in this way:

  • If the node field is part of the scene current node field value is assigned to keyframe

  • If the node field is not part of the scene the value is assigned to the frame interpolated value or to the field type default (for first key frame and key events)

Create moving object animation

This functionality works very well to create animations moving object in the scene.

  1. Select the channels you want to animate.

  2. Select the frame by clicking on the timebar.

  3. Take actions inside the scene on target objects or set values with property editor.

  4. Press the Set Frame button.

Repeat steps 2 to 4 until the animated behavior is complete.

Frame set by editing value in channels table

Another way to create a keyframe or a key-event is from the channel table. This is the preferred way for key events.

  1. Click on the value column of a channel in the channel table.

  2. Insert or modify the value.

  3. Press Enter. The inserted value is validated against the channel type.

  4. If the value is not valid, you are asked to correct or press Esc to undo. If the value is valid, the key frame or key event is created.

    Frame set by recording functionality

Recording functionality works only for those channel field nodes that are included in the scene.

    Activate recording

    • Press the Record button on the play control area.

In recording mode, all the active channels field node values are checked against interpolated value. If any value changes, a key frame is set in the currently selected frame.
