Limited release: This a limited release of XR. It does not contain all of the features and tools that are described in this documentation.
New features
These features are new or changed in the AVEVA™ XR 4.2.0 release.

This version is the first version of AVEVA XR Studio based on the new bundled release architecture. The new approach will improve coexistence of multiple versions of the same content (XR Studio or any other add-on) and will simplify porting of projects from version to version.

Completed the Layout Management system with the separation of Nodes Explorer and Node Properties panels from the Graphic Context Editor. Previously created layouts may be incompatible with the updated system and may prompt you to update them.

The new integrated Make Tool system simplifies and clarifies creation of artifacts such of releases, installable releases, or PAK files.

Added support for online documentation.

New icons and improved skin management. Now script editors correctly support the dark theme.

Improved Animation Clip Editor. Added various enhancements including the possibility to move key frames.

Added new CAD importers and converters for SolidWorks, Rhino, JT, IGES, and GLTF.

Hotspot: Improved visibility management.

Mesh: Added displayOverPostEffects field to prevent highlight to be rendered over a mesh.

RectBase2D: Added pixelInterpolation to allow/deny possibility to display elements with position expressed in subPixels.

Text2D, Link2D, DynamicText2D, AnnotationText, ListBox2D, DropdownList2D, Keyboard2D: added dynamicFontScaling field to improve text visual quality.

Deprecated and Discontinued
Deprecated features
Functionality is marked as deprecated when a specific function or feature is still supported in the current release, but might be removed in a future release. We advise that you phase these features out of your projects and begin to use alternative features.

CVP3DVSManager node has been deprecated. Use CVSCloudManager instead.

Camera cave fields - Cave visualization management should now be done through the newly introduced Viewport node.

Legacy 2D nodes - These legacy nodes are kept because they appear inside some old module scripts.
