CAD importers and converters

Use the Import CAD button to import or copy data, such as CAD files, geometry files, and others into the XR project. See Import CAD content.

There are two main type of importers:

• Those copying data already in a supported format.

• Those converting data into a supported format.

  Importer/Converter	Description
  MWX copy	Copies a native XR content into the project. Includes geometries, materials, and animations.
  MWX_Soup copy	Copies an MWX_SOUP content into the project. Includes geometries, materials, animations, patches, and actions file from previous processing.
  FBX to MWX import	Includes geometries, materials, and animations.
  FBX to MWX soup import	Includes geometries and colors.
  RVM Metadata from TXT to JSON	Converter of metadata. It supports TXT to JSON conversion of RVM metadata.
  Gateway Metadata from XML to JSON	Converter of metadata. It supports XML to JSON conversion of Gateway (EIWM) metadata.
  OBJ to MWX import	Includes geometries and textures.
  POPMesh copy	Copies a single POPMesh content.
  RFC/GCD copy	Copies one or multiple RFC files or a zip file. It supports copy of additional dictionary files. Includes geometries and colors.
  RVM to MWX soup import	Includes geometries and colors.
  RVM to RFC import	Converts an RVM into a cache file. Includes geometries and colors.
  RVM to POPMesh import	Converts an RVM into POPMesh format.
  SGL copy options	Copies one or multiple SGL replay log files.
  SPC copy import options	Copies one or multiple SPC files.
  ZGL to MWX soup import	Includes geometries and colors.
  ZGL to RFC import	Converts a ZGL into a cache file. Includes geometries and colors.
  ZGL to POPMesh Import	Converts a ZGL into POPMesh format.
  STEP to MWX soup import	Converts a Step file (.stp or .step) into mwx soup format via Hoops.
  NWD to MWX soup import	Converts a Navisworks file (.NWD) into mwx soup format via Hoops.
  DWG to MWX soup import	Converts a DWG file (.dwg) into mwx soup format via Hoops.
  IFC to MWX soup import	Converts an IFC file (.ifc) into mwx soup format via Hoops.
  Revit to MWX soup import	Converts a Revit file (.rvt) into mwx soup format via Hoops.
  Solidworks to MWX soup import	Converts a Solidwork file (.sldprt or .sldasm) into mwx soup format via Hoops.
  Rhino to MWX soup import	Converts a Rhino file (.3dm) into mwx soup format via Hoops.
  Siemens JT to MWX soup import	Converts a Siemens JT file (.jt) into mwx soup format via Hoops.
  IGES to MWX soup import	Converts a IGES file (.igs or .iges) into mwx soup format via Hoops.
  GLTF to MWX soup import	Converts a GLTF file (.gltf or .glb) into mwx soup format via Hoops.
