Find Panel

The Find Panel enables you to search for all occurrences of a given text in open files, or the entire project, and in associated .mwx source files.

Note: The Find Panel searches on saved versions of files. Therefore, if any files are not saved, the panel gives an alert before proceeding to search.

Search Results

The Search results display in a table with the following fields.

Info

Description

File

Moves the selected file to top of list.

Line

The number of the line that matches the search parameters.

Text

The line text for preview.

Notes about results table

  • By default, the table is grouped by file and displays the number of found occurrences.

  • The results table supports all filters, grouping and find functionalities that are described for the Object Explorer node table.

  • Double-click a line, or right-select, and use the context menu to open the file.

  • Each file type has different behaviors related to this functionality as described in the table below.

Runs the program associated with file types. MWX files are handled as external files.
