Limited release: This a limited release of XR. It does not contain all of the features and tools that are described in this documentation.

New features

We have added these new features in the AVEVA XR 4.0.2 release.

XR-Portable for mobile platforms

We have extended XR to work on mobile platforms:

The XR Node Reference covers what is supported or not by each runtime.

Support for AVEVA Licensing System

XR Studio and XR Viewer now support the AVEVA Licensing System (ALS) both on premises and on cloud (LAAS). For more information, see License parameters.

Animation Clip Editor

A new Animation Clip Editor has been added to the XR Studio Graphic Context Editor. The Animation Clip Editor enables you to create and manage complex AnimationClip instances with a timeframe-based user interface and playback functionalities.

Improved Development workflow

We have updated the CAD import UI and added the auto creation of start batch files based on project run configuration. This improves the developer workflow by saving time and preventing errors. There are also several small improvements to improve the CAD import tool usage.

Extended and improved Design Review template

The Customizing the XR Engage Template based on the CAD Viewer Module module has been improved and enhanced with new functionalities such as measurement tools and better usability.

New nodes

We have added these new nodes:

  • OSDKeyboard - For keyboardless applications.

  • RestServer - Enables you to create a REST http service and configure it.

AR nodes for iOS

We have added these nodes for AR support on the XR-P-IOS platform.

Deprecated features

Functionality is marked as deprecated when a specific function or feature is still supported in the current release, but might be removed in a future release. We advise that you phase these features out of your projects and begin to use alternative features.

  • Legacy 2D nodes - These legacy nodes are kept because they appear inside some old module scripts.
