The UV Edit Panel supports four different types of projections: cubic, planar, cylindrical, and spherical.

Buttons to modify settings

Independently of the chosen projection, the panel provides some useful functionalities through buttons. These buttons modify the projection position, rotation, and scale.

Fit button

The Fit button fits the projection to the mesh bounding.

Center button

The Center button move the projections to the center of the mesh bounding.

XYZ buttons

The X, Y, Z buttons align the projection rotation so that its top is aligned to one of the mesh local axis.

Show Default Texture

The Show Default Texture checkbox applies a temporary checked texture to the mesh.

Show Gizmo

The Show Gizmo checkbox shows a helper wire-framed geometry representing the projection on the Graphic Context Editor viewport.

Position

You can adjust the projection Position through the three corresponding input boxes, displayed in the order x, y, and z.

Orientation

You can adjust the projection Orientation through the three corresponding input boxes, using values in degrees and displayed in this order: rotation around local x, y, and z.

Dimension

You can adjust the projection Dimension scale through the three corresponding input boxes, displayed in the order x, y, and z. If the lock below is selected, the scale will maintain its current proportions.

Cap

When the current projection is Cylinder type, a Cap checkbox displays for choosing to project on caps.

Note: The algorithm to detect and project cylinder caps is internally using hard-coded values that might not work for all geometries.
