Project Uplift interface

  • Last UpdatedSep 03, 2025
  • 3 minute read

The Project Uplift interface has three sections: Template, Target framework for runtime, and Contents manager.

Template section

The Template section enables you to update the project base template to a specific version. This includes: run commands, run configurations, configuration files, and all other assets in the project root and GameData folder.

User files such as the graphic_context are not overridden or modified by this operation. Configuration files are merged against new ones, gaining new parameters and sections when available.

Update based on template

The Update button in the Template section compiles the Project Uplift interface based on the Template version selected in the combobox.

  • Updates the Framework version according to the selected Template version.

  • Updates all components listed in Contents manager versions according to the selected Template version.

  • Adds new components if present in the updated Template.

Target framework for runtime section

The Target framework for runtime section allows to update the runtime binaries, such as XR Studio and XR Viewer, targeted to be used by the project to develop and run it, to a specific version.

Update based on target framework for runtime

The Update button in the Target framework for runtime section can be used to automatically compile the Project Uplift interface based on the Framework version selected in the combobox.

  • Updates all components listed in Contents manager versions according to the selected Target framework for runtime version.

Content manager

The Content Manager section enables you to update individual components, such as PAKs, Plugins, and Data content, to a specific version. For each component, it is possible to specify a version individually.

  • Deleting content. It is possible to delete content using the Delete button. An Undo button is available to revert delete operations.

  • Adding content. Content can be added only through the Update Based on Template functionality. If new content is present in an updated version of a Template, use that functionality to have it added to your project

  • Clean install data content. This flag applies only to content of data type. If selected, when updating data content, the current data content is uninstalled before installing the new data content. All files belonging to the current data content are deleted and the app proceeds with a clean installation of new data content files.

Interface actions

The lower area of the dialog is dedicated to the uplift action execution.

Note: During Apply, if the Version Option of any section is missing in the installation folder, the section will be skipped. The same is true during Restore, if the Current Version is missing, the section will be skipped.

  • Apply. Applies the Uplift with the selected Version Option for the Template, Framework, and all the Contents.

  • Reset. Resets the panel to the current version options, selecting the Current Version in the Version Option for the Template, Framework, and all the Contents.

  • Restore. Restores the Current Version of the project, applying the Current Version to the Template, Framework, and all the Contents and apply with Uplift.

  • Close. Closes the Project Uplift panel without applying any change.
