User management

In XR Instructor, each node has a unique node name that is visible, for example, in the Status panel.

For training reasons, it may be useful to assign a user name to each user-based node (the players and the instructor) involved in a simulation session.

During a simulation session, one or more application nodes cooperate to perform process or maintenance-related activities.

User names

When a User name is assigned to a node, it is used for:

• Displaying player hints.

• Logging player actions to the Log panel.

Guidelines

• During a session, assigned names remain in place until they are modified.

• Assigned names are reset to default when closing the application server. Therefore, every time the system or server is restarted, the names have to be reassigned.

  

Changing node user names

You can update user node names.

Update a node user name

1. Select a node in the nodes table.

2. In the name text editor, enter a new name.

3. Press Set.

4. Press OK to confirm.
