Limited release: This a limited release of XR. It does not contain all of the features and tools that are described in this documentation.

New features

These features are new or changed in the AVEVA™ XR 4.0.14 release.

Multiselection in XR Studio

It is now possible to select multiple graphical entities and perform grouped actions in XR Studio.

XR Bridge support update

The XR Bridge compatibility matrix has been updated.

• Dropped support for AVEVA™ Dynamic Simulation 5.

• Added support for AVEVA™ Dynamic Simulation 6.3 and 6.31.

Rendups parameter for import to soup

New rendups parameter for these import options:

• FBX to MWX Soup import options

• RVM to MWX Soup import options

• ZGL to MWX Soup import options

New nodes

• Keyboard2D - Enables you to design an onscreen keyboard.

• SecretManager - Enables you to securely encrypt and decrypt encrypt a string.

• PickingStrategy - Picking Strategy works with the PickSensor, to customize picking behavior.

New or modified scripting statements

• share - New parameters to restrict bandwidth consumptions.

• copy - Can move content from field to field without resolving.

• set - No resolve option supported.

Modified nodes and field types

These nodes have been modified or enhanced in this release.

• PickSensor - PickSensor is now provisioned with the new picking strategy.

• Texture2D - Now supports texture size virtualization for big textures.

• GestureSensor - Added support for multiple fingers tracking on windows.

• stable - Has new subfields for better filtering the table.

Deprecated and Discontinued

Deprecated features

Functionality is marked as deprecated when a specific function or feature is still supported in the current release, but might be removed in a future release. We advise that you phase these features out of your projects and begin to use alternative features.

• setfield and setlocal attributes in Command node and statements.

• Legacy 2D nodes - These legacy nodes are kept because they appear inside some old module scripts.

• Camera cave fields - Cave visualization management should be now done through the newly introduced Viewport node.

Discontinued features

These features are no longer supported and no longer appear in XR software.
