AVEVA™ XR Studio

Object Explorer

  • Last UpdatedSep 04, 2024
  • 2 minute read

The Object Explorer panel of XR Studio gives you the ability to search for a particular item in a project. If no project is opened, the Open Project button displays.

Each project is comprised of several files. Each file may define one or more node instances

  • The Object Explorer lists the node instances that are defined inside the project script, graphic context, and scenario files.

  • It also lists some packed module library nodes because you might need to use them in scripts.

  • You can use Object Explorer to locate all defined node instances inside a project.

  • By default, the instances are grouped by Type.

  • You can expand or collapse each group.

Find capability

The main purpose of the Object Explorer is to find out where a node instance is defined. This information is shown in the File column of the table.

When opening a file from the Object Explorer, or opening as text, a find action is performed.

  • When the file is already open, its editor gets the focus and the selected node instance is highlighted.

  • If the file is not yet open, it opens in the designed editor. In this case, the find action may work directly or you may need to repeat the open and find request to get the node selected.

Parameters

Node instances in the Object Explorer result table have five parameters.
