Not all virtual plant projects require animation. However, good practice when you need an animation is to adapt an existing library animation.

Generally, there are two types of animations:

  • Accident animations, such as fires, vapor, or liquid leaks.

  • Item inspection animations, in which equipment is opened to see inside or a detailed part is shown as augmented reality.

Topics

This section recommends conventions and techniques for animation development.

  • Inspecting: How to make an object inspectable.

  • Animation conventions: Rules and good practice to follow for avoiding problems coming from particles, transparencies.

  • Separate scenes: How to represent animated content that is separated from virtual plant content.
