Install AVEVA XR Add-on inside Blender

The AVEVA™ XR Add-on for Blender provides to Blender a set of tools that improve the quality and performance of Blender-exported FBX content when imported into XR Framework.

You will need to enable the Add-on each time you open Blender.

Note: The procedures on this page take place inside the Blender software application.

Before installing

1. If you have an older version of the AVEVA XR Add-on, remove it by selecting the Remove button inside Blender.

2. Restart Blender.

3. Open Blender.

4. On the Edit menu, select Preferences.

   

5. On the Blender Preferences window, select the Add-ons tab.

6. Use the Search bar to search for Aveva.

   

7. When you locate the AVEVA XR Add-on, select the Aveva.py file and select Install Add-on.

   

8. After installing, press the N key on the keyboard to show the AVEVA XR tab.

   

9. Click the Folder icon to add the path to the AVEVA plugin folder if it is different from the default installation path: C:\AVEVA\XR\4.0\XRStudio\bin\tools\BlenderXrStudioPlugin\

10. Click Enable Addon. This step is needed every time you open Blender.
