Enable the picking on an element

In the 3D view

This procedure is for selected scenegraph nodes that are already excluded from picking.

  1. Select the Scenegraph graphic object in the Graphic Context Editor.

  2. Right click the object and select Include in Picking.

Notes: Including picking in this way is only possible immediately after excluding an element from picking and before selecting anything else with the mouse.

    • This is because right after excluding from picking, an element stays selected until another node is selected.

    • After selecting any other node, it will become not possible to select the node, due to the scenegraph node being excluded from picking. Therefore, if you deselect it, it will not be possible to select it again.

    • This is an intended behavior and was developed this way to enable a user to immediately revert the Exclude from picking action if they realize it was applied to the wrong scenegraph node.

From Scene Explorer with context menu

  1. In the Scene Explorer, select the Scenegraph graphic object.

  2. Right-click the object and select Include in Picking.

    From Scene Explorer with icon

    1. In the Scene Explorer, select the Scenegraph graphic object.

    2. Click the small lock icon in the Picking column to re-include the Scenegraph node in the picking.
