Adding a New Node

Use the Nodes Explorer to add new nodes.

You can manually add one or more new nodes to the graphic context file. For multiple nodes, see Add Multiple Nodes.

Add a new Button node

  1. Click the Add button on the Nodes Explorer.

  2. On the Create Item From Template dialog, expand Base, expand the categories, then select a node template.

  3. Enter the node name and optional parameters, such as particles emitters number.

  4. (Optional) Set the Position.

Some objects can have the Position parameter. The value can either be the Default value (0 0 0, "In front of the camera") or a Custom position.

You can also use the Pin Point button (shown in red circle) to select a position directly on the Graphic Context window. The cursor will appear on the graphic context when a valid position is hovered and the input value for the Custom position will be updated in real time.

  5. (Optional) Set the Offset.

You can set an offset to the position, either in world or camera coordinates.

In the case of single node, the offset will be directly applied. In cases where there are multiple nodes, the offset will be applied cumulatively to each node. For example, the first node will be at the position, the second node will have the offset applied to the position, the third node will have the offset applied to the second node and so on).

  6. Click Add or Add & Close to run the template and add the selected content. Updates on the state of template execution are reported in the log text area.

Search for a node to add

You can search for type of node to add either by name or using tags.

  • Enter a search term into the Search box to filter the template list based on text.

  • Use the dedicated interface to filter by selected tags.

Template log

While executing a template, relevant information about the executed steps will print to the log. This enables you to observe the state of the template and understand what actions have been performed.
