On the right side of the Shader Editor screen, the Node panel displays a visual representation of your nodes and their connections.
-
Currently selected nodes appear highlighted and display in a brown color palette.
-
Unselected nodes appear in a gray color palette.

Connection status
The small circle in the top-right of a node represents its status:
-
Green indicates the node is connected.
-
Red indicates that something is wrong with the connections.
Connection types
Every connected value must be of the same type. The input and outputs of nodes are color-coded by type. See Connecting nodes.
