What's new in 4​.0​.10

Limited release: This a limited release of XR. It does not contain all of the features and tools that are described in this documentation.

New features

We have added these new features in the AVEVA XR 4.0.10 release.

Graphic Context Add Item

The Create Item from Template dialog box in Graphic Context Editor has been redesigned for easier use. The whole library have been remodeled to provide a wider and more valuable list of items to select from.

Improved auto-completion in Script Editor

Missing node fields, such as transform related nodes, have been added to the auto-completion system.

Support for UTF8 and Large Coordinates

We have added support for UTF8 and large coordinates.

• UTF8 support has been added to importers and the rendering engine. This enables resolution of multiple issues when dealing with data that not based on the latin-1 charset or containing unexpected characters.

• Large coordinates support enables corruption-free loading and rendering of assets created with double precision coordinates systems.

New nodes

These nodes are new in this release.

• Link2D - A new 2D node for creating clickable text entries.

Modified nodes

These nodes have been enhanced or modified in this release.

• Mesh - Improved the opacity management.

• Item - Added a new functionality to add multiple additional meshes to an Item.

• GestureSensor - Improved support on Windows and added new fields.

• ClipPlanes - New functionalities to set specific meshes not to be clipped.

Deprecated and Discontinued

Deprecated features

Functionality is marked as deprecated when a specific function or feature is still supported in the current release, but might be removed in a future release. We advise that you phase these features out of your projects and begin to use alternative features.

• setfield and setlocal attributes in Command node and statements.

• Legacy 2D nodes - These legacy nodes are kept because they appear inside some old module scripts.

• Camera cave fields - Cave visualization management should be now done through the newly introduced Viewport node.

Discontinued features

These features are no longer supported and no longer appear in XR software.

Security updates

• Improved stability of Rest Server.

• Hardened XR Framework against path traversal attacks.
