Use the Move mode in the 3D view to move selected content in the scene.
This mode is for moving nodes to change their position in the 3D scene.

Note: When Move mode is enabled, all built-in interactions of nodes derived from AnnotationBase are temporarily disabled.
Enable the Move mode
-
Click the Move button in the 3D View toolbar.
Editing the position
When you select an object for moving, the Transformation gizmo showing the transformation axis displays at the transformation point.

Move an object along one of the displayed axis
-
Select an object, place the mouse over the desired axis. The axis color becomes brighter. Left-click and drag the object to move it.

Move an object along two of the displayed axis
-
Select an object, place the mouse over the square that lays on the plane formed by the two desired axis. The square color becomes brighter. Left-select and drag the object to move it.

Move an object along the plane parallel to the camera view passing by the object position
-
Select an object, place the mouse within the gizmo central circle area. The circle color becomes brighter. Left-select and drag the object to move it.
Note: If the user selects the movement snap button or holds the Shift key on the keyboard, this causes the movement pace to fix. This means that the displacement is rounded to the nearest multiple of the floor grid cell size.

Local space and World space
Depending on the currently selected object, the interface allows you to:
-
Choose between Local space and World space to position the object. This choice is directly reflected by the displayed Transformation gizmo, so that users are aware of the direction of the axis along which the transformation is going to happen.
Note: Some of the nodes currently support only World coordinate system transformations.
-
Choose the transformation Channel. Nodes that support it will allow you to choose between the Transform channel or the Offset channel. Depending on which channel is selected, the user’s drag editing will affect the position field (Transform channel) or the positionOffset field (Offset channel).

Edit the target position
In nodes that feature a target, such as Camera and Light, you can edit the target position using the gizmo.
Edit the target position of a node
-
Select the node from the Nodes panel.
-
Select the target position field in the node properties. For example, target field for cameras and targetPosition field for lights.
-
Enable the Move button in the 3D View toolbar.
-
Drag on the gizmo to edit the target as you would do to edit any node position.
Note: If any other field or no field at all is selected, the gizmo is used to edit positions of the node. Only selecting the field that stores the target position will cause the target value to be edited.

Move camera around in the scene
See Interacting with mouse and keyboard.
Ladder node behavior
Use the Move mode in the 3D view to adjust the height of the ladder placed in the 3D scene.

Editing the height
When you select the ladder object, the Y-axis of the Transformation Gizmo displays at the top of the ladder.

Edit the height of the ladder
-
Select the ladder node from the Nodes panel.
-
Select the ladder height field in the node properties.
-
Enable the Move button in the 3D View toolbar.
-
Drag on the gizmo to edit the height.
Note: If any other field or no field at all is selected, the gizmo is used to edit positions of the node. Only selecting the height field that stores the ladder height will cause the height value to be edited.
