Bridge Generator

The Bridge Generator is an external tool. Together with the XR Studio, you can use the Bridge Generator to automate the creation of very long and repetitive files.

Purpose

Use Bridge Generator for two main purposes:

• Generate bridge files: To automate the creation of bridge.xml and additional shares.

• Generate patch files: To create a patch file to host variables.

Being an .exe file, the Bridge Generator can be configured as an external tool and run directly by the XR Studio.

Note: When configuring shares, you must consider if the automatic share generation for the graphic context is enabled or disabled under File menu > Preferences.

How Bridge Generator works

The Bridge Generator works as follows:

1. Reads the mapping file and loads the matching rules.

2. Parses the graphic context source files.

3. Applies the matching rules on the graphic context and creates the content.

4. Opens the template files.

5. Fills the template placeholder tags with the correct content.

6. Creates/overwrites the output files with filled templates.

7. Records completed actions into a log file.
