Override Item Cmeshes (FBX)

Overriding Item Cmeshes

The AVEVA™ XR system supports automatic cmesh generation based on item meshes.

In some cases, it can be useful to replace the automatically generated cmesh with one or more hand-modeled cmeshes. For example, you might do this when small items are difficult to select.

Default cmesh

You can assign a single hand-modeled cmesh to an item by applying the correct naming convention. The AVEVA™ XR system automatically recognizes the presence of this cmesh and skips the automatic cmesh generation.

The convention is to name the cmesh as follows:

cmesh_itemName

where itemName can be basic_XXX or statedisplay_XXX

This is the same syntax approach used by the label.

Explicit cmeshes

You can assign one or more cmeshes to an item using the cmeshes field of the item node.

In this case, the naming convention is that all the cmesh names must start with cmesh_.

A cmesh (collision mesh) is a mesh with collision properties.
