2D trend panels

Depending on project configuration, trends can be managed as:

• 2D objects

• 3D objects

• A mix of 2D and 3D objects

Guidelines about 2D trends management

• Some specific items, generally indicators and transmitters, can have an associated Trend action. Select the Trend action to see a trend overlaid on the screen that shows item-related variable values against time.

• Trends contain a legend that show name, color, and unit of measure for each represented variable.

• A list of trend-related actions displays in the action area. The list typically contains options to change the trend scale from instrument to adaptive and to close trend visualization.

• When a trend displays, the field operator is still able to move around, but cannot select another equipment unless the trend is closed or the selection mode is exited.

Looking at trends

Looking at trends can be useful for understanding what is happening in the plant.

Display a reduced view of the last displayed trend

• Press the (L3) button (the left analog stick) on the left corner of the screen.
