What's new in 5​.0​.0

Limited release: This a limited release of XR. It does not contain all of the features and tools that are described in this documentation.

New features

These features are new or changed in the AVEVA™ XR 5.0.0 release.

• App font loading

• New features have been added to the Add Instance Templates dialog. It's now possible to override the default item creation position using a picker or manually. Additionally, it's possible to create multiple instances and space them automatically.

• Graphic Context offers a brand new 2D Resize mode feature for RectBase2D elements that allows you to freely resize the elements in any direction using side and corner handlers.

• XR Viewer Cloud and XR Viewer Portable WebASM debug page functionalities have been richly expanded allowing user to specify specific resolutions or simulate most common threats.

• XR Studio Language Editor has a new function that allows you to automatically add a new language to the options available in all the Application Configuration Files. This will make delivering a multi-language application easier.

Modified nodes

These nodes have been modified or enhanced in this release.

• Global node offers a new getTextRectSize sfunction that allows you to pre-determine the area required to display a text. This makes it possible to properly size the text component and its container.

• TaskViewer2D now offers extended customization features.

Deprecated and Discontinued

Deprecated features

Functionality is marked as deprecated when a specific function or feature is still supported in the current release, but might be removed in a future release. We advise that you phase these features out of your projects and begin to use alternative features.

• CVP3DVSManager node has been deprecated. Use CVSCloudManager instead.

• Camera cave fields - Cave visualization management should now be done through the newly introduced Viewport node.

• Legacy 2D nodes - These legacy nodes are kept because they appear inside some old module scripts.

• setfield and setlocal attributes in Command node and statements.

Discontinued features

• Removed support for 3DVision and SLI rendering paths.

Security updates

We made the following security updates.

• Updated/Removed vulnerable dependencies.

• Updated toolchains of native solutions in ARF.
