Toolbar buttons and shortcut commands

This table lists the Generic Text Editor toolbar buttons and descriptions. Some functions also have a shortcut command.

Generic Text Editor navigation bar

The Script Editor includes a Lexer combo box, which allows selecting the lexer for the current file.

The Set as default checkbox makes the selected lexer persistent for all files with the same extension.

Lexer combo box

The Lexer combo box allows selecting the lexer type for the file currently open in the editor.

If a file type is opened for the first time and a corresponding lexer for that extension exists in the list, it will be automatically applied. Otherwise, the file will be opened as plain text, without color highlighting.

Set as default checkbox

The Set as default checkbox allows setting the currently selected lexer as the default for that file type.

Word Wrap

When enabled, the editor wraps the content of the line to the next line. This option is False, by default.

• On the File menu, point to Preferences, and select Script Editor Word Wrap.

Some functions are available through the contextual menu (right select on text area), and by shortcut command.
