AVEVA™ XR Studio

Get started page

Get started is the landing page that displays when opening XR Studio. It provides quick access to projects, whether recently opened or bookmarked as favorites.

When no recent or bookmarked projects are available, a short help message displays.

Creating and opening projects

At the top of the page, there are two buttons:

  • Create - Starts a new project from the available templates.

  • Open - Allows you to browse the file system and open an existing project.

Recent and bookmarked projects

Previously opened projects are stored in the Recent section, up to 100 entries.

Each entry displays project-related information and actions:

  • Name - Project image, name, and path.

  • Version - Project framework and template target versions.

  • Last opened - Date the project was last opened (dd/MM/yyyy format).

  • Bookmark - A toggle button to add or remove the bookmark from the given project.

When a project is bookmarked, its entry is moved to the Bookmarked section, displayed above the Recent section.

Managing the Project list

You can left-click each project in the list to open it, or right-click to access further actions through its context menu:

  • Open in File Explorer - Opens the project base folder in the File Explorer.

  • Copy path - Adds the project path to the clipboard.

  • Remove from list - Removes the project from the Recent or Bookmarked list.

  • Add bookmark or Remove bookmark - Adds or removes the bookmark from the project and moves its entry accordingly.

Searching and filtering

The top section also provides a Search control and a Filter menu:

  • Search - Dynamically filters the projects in both lists based on project names that partially or fully match the search term.

  • Filter - Allows you to filter projects based on the available Framework version, Template version, or Template name. Show all resets the filters.

Missing projects

If a project from the list has been deleted or removed from its original path, a warning icon displays over the project image.

Left-clicking a missing project suppresses the opening and shows a dialog instead. From this dialog, you can choose to either keep or remove the project from the list.

Windows taskbar jump list

The Recent projects list is accessible through the Windows taskbar jump list. It allows direct opening of a specific project.

The list displays only the most recent projects, up to the limit defined by the Windows setting (13 entries by default).

The jump list also supports pinning favorite projects.

Note: Projects pinned in the jump list are managed internally by Windows and are therefore not synchronized with the projects bookmarked within XR Studio.
