These new nodes have been added in this release.

Module updates

These modules have been added or modified in this release.

  • Icon module: A specialized module that exposes all glyphs in an icon font and makes them available through defines or static APIs.

  • Palette module: Provides a centralized color scheme management system that defines and distributes consistent color values across all UI modules in the framework.

  • ContextualMenu module: Provides a flexible, customizable contextual menu system for XR applications.

Modified nodes

These nodes have been modified in this release.

  • GestureSensor: Completed unification of fields and behaviors across the different targets. Added support for concurrent gestures.

  • RectBase2D: Added support for masking, improved touch support, and support for using Gradient2D instead of plain colors.

  • Global: Added support for dynamic gradient background, and support to manage enabling of Low Power mode.

  • Object: Now supports full matrix operations (position, orientation, and scale).

  • BrowserClient: This node is now based on WebView2. See the below note in Discontinued features section.

Deprecated features

Functionality is marked as deprecated when a specific function or feature is still supported in the current release, but might be removed in a future release. We advise that you phase these features out of your projects and begin to use alternative features.

Discontinued features

  • Removed support for 3DVision and SLI rendering paths.

  • Removed support for CloudStorage node.

  • Removed support for VoiceSynth node.

  • The CefBrowser plugin has been removed and replaced with the WebView2 plugin. The content of the plugin remained functionally identical, but requires adding the new plugin and removing the old one to continue to use a BrowserClient in an already existing project.

Security updates

We made the following security updates.

  • Updated third-party dependencies.

  • Filesystem I/O attack surface hardening.
