Setup Process

Setting up the app involves accepting EULA, registering device, configuring local settings, and synchronizing data.
The mobile device should be configured as follows:

Accept EULA.

Configure authentication settings.
-
Configure Device Name.
-
Configure Sync Server settings.
-
Synchronize data.
To accept EULA
-
Tap Accept.
The EULA is accepted, and the Configuring Authentication URL screen appears.
To configure an authentication settings
Configuring an account involves the following steps:

Configuring the settings Automatically via QR Code scanner.
To configure the settings automatically via QR Code Scanner
You can automatically populate the settings by using the QR code Scanner.
To import Settings

On the Action bar, tap the Scan button.

Focus the QR code in the frame and wait till it is automatically scanned.
The Settings are imported.

To authenticate a Local or Active Directory user

In the User box, type the username.
If you are an AD user, the Domain field displays the domain name that you have provided in the QR code.To know more about configuring the QR code, see the AVEVA Mobile Operator Installation Guide.

Optional: To delete or modify the domain name, select the
button and type the required domain name in the User box in the format as:<domainname>\<username>.
The domain name appears in the Domain field.

In the Password box, type the password.

Tap Log On.
The user is authenticated, and the Device screen appears.
To authenticate an Azure Active Directory user

In the User box, type the Azure Active Directory username, and tap Log On.
The AVEVA Identity Manager screen appears, displaying the Azure Active Directory user name.

Click Next.

In the Enter Password screen, you can authenticate a user via a password or certificate:

To authenticate a user by password, type the Password, and tap Next.

To authenticate a user via certificate, tap Use a certificate or smart card, choose appropriate certificate from the Choose certificate dialog, and tap Select.

Click Sign-in.
The user is authenticated, and the Device screen appears.
To edit the Authentication URL

Tap the overflow menu, and then tap Edit Authentication URL.
The Authentication URL screen appears.
To edit the Connection Timeout

In the Connection Timeout box, provide a duration between 100 to 9999 seconds till when the connection to the Mobile Operator server would be attempted.

Tap Continue.
To configure Device Name

In the Device Name box, type the name of the device, and then tap Continue.
The device name is saved, and the Server screen appears.
Note:
- Special characters in the device name are restricted to hyphen (-), period (.),
and underscore (_).
- If your mobile device supports user profiles, then you should ensure the Device Name is unique for each user profile.
To configure Sync Server settings

In the Sync Server Name box, type the machine name or IP address of the computer where the Server is installed.

In the Port box, type the port configured for communication on the Server.

In the Connection Timeout box, provide a duration between 20 to 60 seconds till when the connection to the sync server would be attempted.

Tap Continue.
To import Sync Server settings using QR code

On the Action bar, tap the Scan button.

Focus the QR code in the frame and wait till it is automatically scanned.
The Sync Server settings are imported.

To synchronize data

In the Plant, Base, and Role selection screen, select the Plant, Base and Roles

Tap Continue.
The data is retrieved from the Server.
Note:
- Data can be synced using Wi-Fi Sync. For more information on data synchronization,
see Transfer.
- Make sure the app is in the foreground while syncing the data.
