Import Assets

The Asset Import Utility allows import of Assets from a CSV or XML file, such as the one produced by the Asset Export utility (see Learn about Importer file structure and Export Assets).

Important: Assets cannot be imported from exports performed with previous versions of AVEVA Mobile Operator (previously known as IntelaTrac). Upgrade the database first, then export the Assets, to make a compatible export file.

To launch the Asset Import Utility, select "Asset Importer" from the Utilities menu. The Asset Importer window appears.

To import Assets, follow the directions below.

1. Click the ellipsis () button to open the file browser.

2. Use the file browser to navigate to the location of the CSV or XML file.

3. Double-click the file’s listing, or left-click the file’s listing and click "Open.".

4. Click the checkbox next to any Assets, Asset Groups, or Equipment you do not wish to import to clear the boxes (in the example below, "Orphans Parent" will not be imported, but the other listed items will).

   

   Tip: The "Select All" and "Unselect All" buttons will check or uncheck all listed items, respectively.

5. Optionally, click the box next to "Create Asset Types" to clear the box and ensure that any Asset Types are not imported.

6. Click "Import" to import the checked items. They will then appear in the List Manager list of Assets.
