Procedure Builder provides the following menus and options.

File

The following menu options are always available.

  • Save: Saves the currently selected, open Procedure or List.

  • Save All: Saves all open Procedures and/or Lists.

  • Close All: Closes all open Procedures and/or Lists.

If unsaved edits remain in any open Procedures, the “There are unsaved changes for procedure: (ProcedureTitle). Do you want to save the changes?” where (ProcedureTitle) is the title of the Procedure, will appear.

If unsaved edits remain in any open Lists, the “There are unsaved (ListType) changes. Do you want to save the changes?” where (ListType) is the type of the open List (e.g. “Category”) will appear. In either case:

    • Click Yes to save the changes.

    • Click No to close without saving

    • Click Cancel to leave the Procedure or List open without saving.

  • New: Creates a new Procedure and (if applicable) assigns it to the Base or Category selected. For instructions regarding Procedure creation and configuration, see Procedure Creation Overview and its following sections.

The following menu options are only available when a Procedure is selected in Procedure Locator.

  • Release: Marks the currently selected “Under Construction” Procedure as “Released.” For more information, Releasing Procedures.

Note: Validation must be performed on an Under Construction Procedure before it may be Released.

  • Delete: Marks a selected, previously saved Procedure as “Deleted” (removing it from display in the Locator and in Schedule Manager), or irrevocably deletes a selected, unsaved Procedure.

  • Checkout: Marks a Procedure not already “Checked out” as such. For more information, see Marking Procedures "Checked Out".

  • Checkin: Clears the “Checked Out” status.

  • Deactivate: Marks an Activated, Released Procedure as Deactivated, removing it from Schedule Manager and from Schedules themselves, and disabling its transfer to Mobile devices. For more information, see Marking Procedures "Deactivated".

  • Activate: Marks a Deactivated, Released Procedure as Activated, re-enabling its availability in Schedule Manager and its transfer to Mobile devices.

  • Printable Rounds Report: Prints the Procedure as per the “Print New Procedure” capability of Schedule Manager. For more information, see Printing Procedures.

  • Override Lock: Clears the “Locked” status. For more information, see Locked Procedures.

  • Open Released Revision: Opens the selected Released Procedure in read-only mode.

  • View Under Construction: Opens the Under Construction revision of the selected Procedure in read-only mode.

  • Edit: Creates (if necessary), and opens the Under Construction revision of the selected Procedure in edit mode.

  • Copy Under Construction Revision: Copies the Under Construction revision of the selected Procedure to the Clipboard for pasting elsewhere.

  • Export Released Revision: Exports the Released revision of the selected Procedure.

  • Export Under Construction Revision: Exports the most recent Under Construction revision of the selected Procedure.

  • Paste Procedure: Clones the Procedure in the Clipboard by pasting it to the highlighted location in Procedure Locator (Base and/or Category)

  • Close Procedure Builder: Exits Procedure Builder after prompting the user to save any unsaved Procedures or Lists.

Edit

  • Cut: Standard Windows® functionality. Removes the selected item and places it in the clipboard.

  • Copy: Standard Windows® functionality. Places the selected item in the clipboard.

  • Paste: Standard Windows® functionality. Places the contents of the clipboard in the current position.

  • Delete: Deletes the selected item. For saved items, this results in the item being marked “Deleted” and only being shown in the appropriate editor. For unsaved (new) items, this results in irrevocable deletion.

Insert

This menu is only available when an appropriate List or Procedure item is selected after a List or Procedure is open for edit.

Note: Since the “Insert” menu itself is context-sensitive, refer to the context menu section of Procedures (see Procedure "Insert" Menu), or that of the specific type of List (see List Manager) for more information.

List Manager

Note: For full descriptions of available Lists and instructions regarding their manipulation, see List Manager.

  • View: Accesses Lists in read-only mode.

  • Edit: Accesses Lists in edit mode.
