Add or edit a Plant

Depending upon the privileges you have, you can add a new Plant either under the tenant or to an existing Organization. The privilege can be assigned via Management Center.
Before You Begin:

You must consider the following points before you add or edit a Plant:

Only a Tenant administrator has the privilege to add a Plant under the tenant.

You can add or edit an Plant only if you are a tenant administrator or you have the permission to access that Plant.

You must consider the following points related to Time Zone and Culture field in a Plant.

The Time Zone and Culture settings of a Plant are automatically inherited by the Bases under that Plant.

If you modify the Time Zone and Culture field of a Plant, the Bases (having inherited TimeZone and Culture values) under that Plant will also inherit the modified values.

To clear the Time Zone and Culture field in a Plant, you must first modify the inherited Time Zone and Culture field in the Bases. To know how to modify the Time Zone and Culture value for a Base, see the topic Add or edit a Base in a Plant.

To add a new Plant:

To add a Plant under the tenant, hover the mouse over the tenant name and select
.

To add a Plant to an existing organization, hover the mouse over the tenant name and select
.
Note: The add button appears when you hover over the Plant name.
The context menu appears, displaying the menu options.

Select Add Plant.
A pane appears on the right side of the Organizations window and by default, the MENU tab is selected.

In the Plant Name box, enter the name of the Plant.

In the Description box, enter the description for the Plant.

In the Time Zone box, type the required time zone and select from the drop-down list.
As you enter the search string, the Time Zone drop-down menu filters the result based on search strings that you have provided.

In the Culture box, type the required culture settings and select from the drop-down list.
As you enter the search string, the Culture drop-down menu filters the result based on search strings that you have provided.

Select SAVE.
The details are saved, and depending on where you have created, the newly created Plant is added under the tenant or an Organization as per the alphabetical order.

Select the Plant name from the list.
The MENU tab displays the details of the Plant along with the Plant ID.
Once the Plant is created, the users with Tenant Administrator permissions can add users to this Plant and assign permissions via Management Center.
To edit Plant details:

If you want to edit the details of an existing Plant, then select the Plant name.
A pane appears on the right side of the Organizations window and by default, the MENU tab is selected.

Edit the required fields.
Note: You cannot modify the Plant ID.

If required, edit or clear the Time Zone or Culture fields and then select SAVE.
Note: Before modifying or clearing the values in these fields, make sure that you read the Before You Begin section in this topic.
