AVEVA™ Mobile Operator

Install the Synchronization Server software

Before You Begin:

  • We recommend the installation folder of the program files to be secured with a tight Access-control list.

  • We recommend you to regularly review and update the Access-control lists to prevent unauthorized access.

  • We recommend you to limit the permissions to only authorized users or groups.

  • We recommend to use BitLocker if you are installing AVEVA Mobile Operator to a custom file path.

  • For a silent installation of the Server upgrade, we recommend you to stop all the Server services.

  • When upgrading from Mobile Operator 2020 R2 or earlier versions, we recommend you to backup your Extensions (Custom fucntions) from the Server's installation path.

  • Only the following settings are retained after an upgrade:

    • SdkService - MobileOperator.SdkService.exe.config

      • Http Binding Port

      • Custom Http Binding Port

    • Synchronization Service - appsettings.json

      • ConnectionStrings.Database

      • SslCertThumbprint

      • MaxConcurrentConnections

      • Port

      • AckTimeout

      • MinConnections

      • MaxConnnections

      • LogTransactionDetails

      • SyncCacheThresholdMb

      • RequestChunkSize

      • StatusUpdateIntervalSeconds

      • DaysToSync

Steps:

  1. From the installation media, navigate to Install folder and double-click setup.hta.

  2. Click Install Products.

  3. Click Server 64Bit button.

    Note: For new installations, skip to step 5.

    If you are upgrading, the Do you want to proceed with the upgrade? dialog appears.

  4. Select Yes and then select Next.

  5. On the Welcome screen, click Next.

    The License Agreement window appears.

  6. On the License Agreement window, read the agreement, click the "I accept the terms of the license agreement" radio button, and then click Next to continue.

  7. Next, enter the Client Code and Installation key (see Installation key for AVEVA Mobile Operator), and then click Next to continue.

    The Customer Information window appears.

  8. If the User Name and Company Name fields are blank, enter the appropriate information. Next, choose to whom the program should be available, and then click Next to continue.

  9. On the Select Features window, select the components you wish to install, and then click Next.

    Note: If you are upgrading, select only the services that are already installed on the machine.

  10. Click the Browse button to select a destination folder, or click Next to accept the default location for the installation files.

  11. Enter the AVEVA Mobile Operator database server name in the Server Name field.

    Note: You can now use Windows Integrated Login for SQL Server Authentication. For more information, see Windows Integrated Login for SQL Server authentication.

  12. Enter the Database Name, User Name and Password for the AVEVA Mobile Operator database in the respective fields.

    We recommend you to select the Encrypt Database Connection checkbox and then select Next to continue.

    Note:
    - If you wish to encrypt your database connection, you must also select Yes for Force encryption and select the desired certificate in the SQL Server Configuration Manager. For more information, see the Microsoft documentation.
    - If you are using encryption, you must enter a Fully Qualified Domain Name. You cannot enter the host name or domain name.
    -It is recommended to use the UserName mapped to IntelaTracRole.

  13. If installing the AVEVA Galaxy integration, enter the port on which AVEVA Mobile Operator will access its web service.

  14. Review the install settings and click Next when satisfied, or Back to change. The files will begin to copy and install.

    The installer will then attempt to start the services. During this process, several pop-up windows will appear.

    If any of the processes fails to start, an error window will appear. Additionally, the Installation Complete screen will display the error message.

    Otherwise, the install will complete properly.

    Note: For new installations, skip to step 16.

    If you are upgrading, the Files in Use screen appears.

  15. Select either Automatically close and attempt to restart applications or Do not close applications (A reboot will be required).

  16. Click Finish to exit.

  17. Restart the machine, and then restart the following services:

    • Mobile Operator Data Server

    • Mobile Operator Synchronization Service

      Note:
      - Installing the AVEVA Mobile Operator Server also installs the Operations Control Logger.
      - If you wish to run the services with your domain user account, you must ensure that the domain user is a part of the respective User Group.
