Procedure creation overview

Procedures are plant routines, or "rounds," associated with a collection of Task Groups. Each Task Group (usually associated with an asset) has a set of tasks that involve data collection. Each Task can have a set of actions that prompt the user of a mobile application to take a specific action given an observed result. This facilitates having the correct response options made available for all field users.
Note: In a workflow environment, the term plant is a complete manufacturing facility such as a refinery, power generation complex, or batch-manufacturing center.

Procedures have three main levels: The Procedure itself, Tasks Groups or Decisions within the Procedure, and Tasks within the Task Groups or Decisions.
-
Task Groups (see Task Group) and Decisions (see Decision) are collections of Tasks. Task Groups are usually associated with an Asset, or piece of equipment in a plant, whereas Decisions are groups of Tasks made available by conditional criteria.
-
Tasks (see Task), which are assigned to Task Groups or Decisions within Procedures, represent an observation or measurement performed by a mobile application user.
-
Conditions (see Condition), are collections of Task Groups, Tasks, Decisions, or Actions. Like Decisions, Conditions are triggered by conditional criteria.
Before creating your first Procedure, review the following sections to familiarize yourself with Procedure drag-and-drop behavior in the Workspace (see Drag-and-Drop behavior).
