Default password policy

AVEVA Mobile Operator now enforces strict password policy by default for new installations. Following are the conditions that must be met to create a strong password.

• Password Length: Minimum characters required 8.

• Password Complexity:

  • The password must contain at least 1 letter.

  • The password must contain a lowercase character.

  • The password must contain a numeric character.

  • The password must contain a special character. Special Characters include the following: ! @ # $ % ^ & * ( )

  • The password must contain an uppercase character.

• Maximum Failed Login Attempts: Default value is 10. Takes a value between 10 and 255.

• Password History: The new password being set must not be same as the previous three passwords.

  Note:
  - For the existing AVEVA Mobile Operator installations, we strongly recommend you to enforce the password policy stated above.
  - The AVEVA Mobile Operator password policy is enforced for the local users and does not affect the active directory users. We recommend you to align the Active Directory password policy as per the Industry recommended security standards.
