Install and Configure AVEVA Mobile Operator

Note:
- When upgrading the common installer from AVEVA Mobile Operator 2020 or later versions, you must select each component, validate the configuration, and then select Configure.
-We recommend the installation folder of the program files to be secured with a tight Access-control list.
-We recommend you to regularly review and update the Access-control lists to prevent unauthorized access.
-We recommend you to limit the permissions to only authorized users or groups.
-We recommend to use BitLocker if you are installing AVEVA Mobile Operator to a custom file path.
-If you are using enterprise authentication mode, we recommend you to not select or remove Identity Provider if it is already installed. For more information about configuration, see Federated Identity Provider.

Important: To install and configure AVEVA Mobile Operator, install the latest .NET 8 versions of the following from the Microsoft website:
- ASP.NET Core Runtime
- .NET Desktop Runtime
- .NET Runtime
Note: When upgrading from Mobile Operator 2020 or later versions, you must uninstall the existing .NET 8 versions and install the latest .NET 8 versions.

Installing and configuring the AVEVA Mobile Operator involves running the Setup.exe file available in the installation media at \Products\Common Install folder. When you run the Setup.exe file, the following applications gets installed in your system.

  • Platform Common Services (System Management Server)

  • AVEVA Enterprise Licensing

  • Identity Provider

  • Data Server

  • Web Application

You can choose to install the applications in a single machine. However, it is recommended to have Platform Common Services and Identity Provider in one machine, and the Data Server and Web Application in another machine. This architecture provides the flexibility to modify the settings of one application without disturbing the settings of another application.

The installation of the applications is performed via the AVEVA Mobile Operator Installation wizard.
