In the AVEVA Mobile Operator web application, you can now select an authentication mode for the users under the organizational units. The authentication mode is, however, set at the tenant level and all the organizations, plants, and bases under the tenant will be set to that mode.
There are three authentication modes available:
-
Enterprise: In Enterprise mode authentication, you can add an Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, or CONNECT user only via auto registration. Local User Groups can be added via Management Center and only Enterprise users can be associated with local Groups after they are auto registered. To know about auto registration in Enterprise mode, refer to AVEVA Management Center User's Guide. Permissions cannot be assigned to users directly. The permissions are inherited only from the Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, or CONNECT Group membership.
-
Local: In Local mode authentication, a user can log in to AVEVA Mobile Operator applications using the login credentials created via Management Center. Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, and CONNECT users are not supported. Users and Groups must be added in the Management Center. Permissions cannot be assigned to users directly. Permissions are inherited only from the Group membership.
-
Hybrid: In Hybrid mode authentication, only Active Directory or Local users are supported. Azure Active Directory and CONNECT users are not supported. Users who are the members of Active Directory groups are auto registered based on their Group membership. To know about auto registration, refer to AVEVA Management Center User Guide. Active Directory users can be added to the Management Center and managed with local Groups. Permissions cannot be assigned to users directly. Permissions are inherited only from the Group membership.
