Tasks

Use Tasks to complete the instructions within a procedure. Tasks can be configured to accept different types of data such as number, text, list, date, calculation, and data entered through execution of custom functions that call external systems.

Use Single-Task View to view a task in detail, and Multi-Task View to view all tasks in the task group.

To view the complete title

  • Tap the title.

    An information message appears with the complete title.

Note: You can tap only on title with ellipsis.

To pause a procedure

  • On the Action bar, tap the Overflow button, and then tap Pause.

    The procedure is paused, and the Dashboard screen appears.

To resume a procedure

  1. On the Dashboard screen, open the paused procedure.

  2. On the Action bar, tap the Overflow button, and then tap Resume.

    You can now continue working on the procedure.

To complete a procedure

  1. On the Action bar, tap the Complete button.

    A confirmation messages appears.

  2. Tap Yes.

    The procedure is marked completed, and the Dashboard screen appears.

    Note: You cannot complete a procedure if the required tasks or task groups are not answered.

    To mark the node out of service

    • On the Action bar, tap the Overflow button, and then tap Out of Service.

      The node is marked out of service for the procedure.

    To mark the node back in Service

    • On the Action bar, tap the Overflow button, and then tap Place back in Service.

      The node is marked back in service for the procedure.

    To override automatic calculation

    • On the Action bar, tap the Overflow button, and then tap Manual Override.

      The field is enabled for the user to type in a value.

    To access Virtual Logs

    • On the Action bar, tap the Overflow button, and then tap Virtual Logs.

      The Virtual Logs screen appears.

    To access Work Order Requests

    • On the Action bar, tap the Overflow button, and then tap Work Order Requests.

      The Work Order Requests screen appears.

    To add a Work Order Request

    1. On the Action bar, tap the Overflow button, and then tap Add Work Order Request.

      The Work Order Request screen appears.

    2. Complete the work order request fields.

    3. Tap the Save button.

      The work order request is saved, and the previous node appears.

      Note: The asset associated with the node is automatically associated with the work order request.

      To unlock the node associated to an asset using a Soft Trigger

      1. Go to the task group of the node.

      2. On the Action bar, tap the Overflow button, and then tap Scan Asset.

        In case of the mobile device camera, the viewfinder screen appears.

        Note: If multiple soft triggers are configured for the node, tap the peripheral to scan the asset.

        1. In case of the mobile device camera, focus the barcode or QR code in the frame and wait till it is automatically scanned.

          The task group is unlocked.

          Note: Tap the Flash icon to turn the Mobile Device Flash on or off. By default, the Mobile Device Flash is turned off.

          To access the node associated to an asset using a peripheral device

          1. On the Action bar, tap the Overflow button, and then tap Search Asset.

            The Search Asset screen appears.

          2. Press the trigger button on the peripheral device.

            The peripheral device reads the asset details, and the first node associated with the asset appears.

            Note:
            - Input takes precedence for peripherals configured as Search and Input device.
            - To unlock nodes using a peripheral, trigger the peripheral on the Search Asset screen.
            - The trigger to read from the peripheral device may vary based on the peripheral device. However, the process remains the same. If you need help, refer to the User Manual of the peripheral device.
            - The Honeywell Dolphin CT60 device can also be used as a hard trigger for scanning barcode or QR code.

            To access the node associated to an asset using NFC

            1. On the Task, tap on the Soft Trigger icon.

            2. Take the NFC enabled device near the NFC tag.

              The mobile device scans the NFC tag of the asset, and the first node associated with the asset appears.

              Note: The NFC enabled device should be within 4 centimeters from the NFC tag to read the data accurately.

              To access the node associated to an asset

              1. On the Action bar, tap the Overflow button, and then tap Search Asset.

                The Search Asset screen appears.

              2. Tap to select an asset.

                The first node associated with the asset appears.

                To access the node associated to an asset using Soft Trigger

                1. On the Action bar, tap the Overflow button, and then tap Search Asset.

                  The Search Asset screen appears.

                2. On the Action bar, tap the Scan button.

                  In case of the mobile device camera, the viewfinder screen appears.

                  Note: If multiple soft trigger are configured for the node, tap the peripheral to scan the asset.

                    To access Trends associated to a task or task group

                    1. On the Action bar, tap the Overflow button, and then tap Trend Graph.

                      The Trend Graph for the task or task group appears.

                      Note: You can configure Trend Graph to tasks or task groups in the List Manager under the Procedure Builder module of the Management Center.

                      To access task information

                      • Tap See Detail.

                        The task information dialog appears with the information on the task. Tap OK to close the dialog.

                      Task Information

                      Icon     Description

                           This icon represents Trigger Peripheral (Soft Trigger). This indicates that the task or the task group should be answered by tapping the Trigger Peripheral icon.

                      Trigger-Peripheral-Blk     This icon represents Trigger Peripheral. This indicates that the task or the task group should be answered by pressing the trigger button on the peripheral device.

                      ConditionSummary     This icon represents Condition Triggered. This indicates that the condition attached to the task has been evaluated.

                      OutOfService     This icon represents Out of Service.This indicates that the task or task group has been marked as out of service for the procedure.

                      Locked     This icon represents Locked.This indicates that the task or task group should be unlocked by scanning an RFID or barcode tag of the asset.

                      Required     This icon represents Required. This indicates that the task or task group should be answered to complete the procedure.

                      Sequenced     This icon represents Sequenced. This indicates that the task should be answered in the order it is placed.

                      WorkOrderRequests     This icon represents Work Order Requests. This indicates that the asset associated with the task has work order requests.

                      HandwrittenSignature     This icon represents Handwritten Signature. This indicates that the task should be signed using your finger or stylus to complete it.

                      DigitalSignature     This icon represents Digital Signature. This indicates that the task or task group should be provided with the credentials to complete it.

                      To access field information

                      • Tap the Information button next to the field.

                        The field information dialog appears with the information on the field. Tap OK to close the dialog.

                      To capture handwritten signature

                      1. In the Signature box, sign using your finger or stylus.

                      2. On the Action bar, tap the Save button.

                        The next node appears.

                        Note: To clear the signature, tap the Clear button.

                        To cancel capture of handwritten signature

                        1. On the Action bar, tap the Close button.

                          A confirmation messages appears.

                        2. Tap Cancel.

                          The previous node appears.

                          Note:
                          - You can tap Retry, to return to the Signature screen.
                          - If you cancel capture of signature for the task, then you cannot proceed further.
                          - If you cancel capture of signature for the procedure, then the procedure is not marked completed.

                          To authenticate digital signature

                          1. In the Password box, type the logon password.

                          2. On the Action bar, tap the Done button.

                            The next node appears.

                            Note:
                            - To cancel authentication, on the Action bar, tap the Close button.
                            - If you cancel authentication for the task group or task, then you cannot proceed further.
                            - If you cancel authentication for the procedure, then the procedure is not marked completed.

                            To authenticate digital signature for an Azure Active Directory user

                            1. In the AVEVA Identity Manager screen, displaying the Azure Active Directory user name, click Next.

                            2. In the Enter Password screen, you can authenticate a user via a password or certificate:

                              • To authenticate a user by password, type the Password, and tap Next.

                              • To authenticate a user via certificate, tap Use a certificate or smart card, choose appropriate certificate from the Choose certificate dialog, and tap Select.

                            3. Click Sign-in.

                              The user is authenticated, and the Procedure screen appears.

                              To populate the asset information using the Camera as Soft Trigger

                              1. Tap the Soft Trigger icon.

                                The viewfinder screen appears.

                              2. Focus the barcode or QR code in the frame and wait till it is automatically scanned.

                                The value read by the camera is populated in the field.

                                Note: Tap the Flash icon to turn the Mobile Device Flash on or off. By default, the Mobile Device Flash is turned off.

                                To access the previous node

                                • On the Bottom bar, tap the Previous button.

                                  The previous node appears.

                                To access the next node

                                • On the Bottom bar, tap the Next button.

                                  The next node appears.

                                To access Multi-Task View

                                • In the Single-Task View screen, on the Bottom bar, tap the Multi-Task View button.

                                  The Multi-Task View screen appears with the currently selected task.

                                Note: Multi-Task View is enabled only if the task group is configured for showing multiple tasks at a time.

                                To access Single-Task View

                                • In the Multi-Task View screen, on the Bottom bar, tap the Single-Task View button.

                                  The Single-Task View screen appears with the currently selected task.

                                To access a background task

                                1. On the Bottom bar, tap the Navigation View button.

                                  The Navigation View screen appears.

                                2. Tap to select a background task.

                                  The background task is opened in the Single-Task View screen.

                                  Accessing List Items

                                  An administrator can present response list items either in a pop-up window, or directly in the Task view as options selectable by tapping a radio button.

                                  Using Response Lists - Pop-up Window View

                                  1. Select a task

                                  2. Click Select Asset and select an asset from the list.

                                  3. Click the text field.

                                    The Response List opens in a pop up overlay. From here, you can:

                                    • Select from an available response

                                    • Enter a new response

                                    • Touch outside the list to dismiss

                                    Using Response Lists - Task View Radio Button

                                    1. Select a task

                                      Select the required response from the Response list.
