Associate Roles with Group

To assign Roles to a Group, perform the following steps.

Note: Roles cannot be assigned to the Plants.

  1. Click the List Manager menu in Security Manager.

  2. Click Permission Manager from the Edit option. The Permission Manager tab opens in the workspace.

  3. Select Group from the View Type menu.

  4. Expand the list of Roles to the left.

  5. (Optional): Type a substring of the desired Role’s name into the provided text field to narrow the list of Roles.

    Tip: Click the X icon to the right of the text field to clear the field.

  6. (Optional): Use standard Windows multiple list selection capabilities (CTRL, SHIFT, CTRL+SHIFT) to select multiple Roles from the list.

  7. Depending on what you wish to do, take one of the following two steps:

    1. To associate Roles with all the Bases to which the Group has access, drag the selected Role(s) to the Group listing.

    2. To associate Roles with only one of the Bases to which that Group has access, drag the selected Role(s) to the Base listing beneath the Group.

  8. Click the File menu in Security Manager and select Save to save the changes. Alternately, you can press CTRL+S or right-click the tab and select Save.
