The Procedure Export Utility exports Procedures and their associated List data objects (Assets, Roles, etc.) to an XML file.
Important: Procedures can not be imported to a site using a different language setting than the one used by the exporting site.
To open the Procedure Exporter, right-click a Procedure’s listing in Procedure Locator and select either "Export Released Procedure" or "Export Under Construction Procedure" as desired. The Procedure Exporter window appears.

To export Procedures, follow the directions below.
-
Click the ellipsis (
) button to open the file browser.
-
Use the file browser to navigate to the path to which you wish to save the exported Procedure XML file.
-
Optionally, rename the XML file (be sure to keep the .XML extension).
-
Click the "Save" button. The Procedure Exporter reappears.
-
Optionally, check the "Export only valid procedures" box to run Validation before exporting the Procedure. If this box is checked and the Procedure being exported is invalid, the error message "Export failed with the following error. (ProcedureTitle) is invalid. Export aborted" (where (ProcedureTitle) is the title of the Procedure being exported) appears, and the export process aborts.
Note: For more information regarding Procedure Validation, see Validate Procedures.
-
Click the "Export" button.
The XML file is saved according to the specified name and location.
