Threshold

Use Threshold settings to configure and trigger warning messages for battery power, network signal strength, and free memory space of the mobile device. This helps the user to decide if a data transfer session can be safely completed.

To access Threshold settings

1. Tap the Menu button, and then tap Settings.

   The Settings screen appears.

2. Tap Threshold.

   The Threshold screen appears.

Configure Threshold settings as follows:

Battery Status

Battery status provides settings to configure and trigger warning messages for the battery level of the mobile device.

Check Battery Status

Check battery status checks on the battery power before initiating a data transfer session.

• Tap to select Check Battery Status to enable battery status check.

• Tap to clear selected Check Battery Status to disable battery status check.

This setting is turned off by default.

Warning Level

Battery warning level is the level of battery power in percentage below which a warning message appears when a data transfer session is initiated. It is up to the user to continue or abort the data transfer session. This setting is enabled only when the Check Battery Status is enabled.

Many factors influence the battery level in terms of power: battery condition, battery capacity, unit configuration, power-savings options enabled, and so on. Use experimentation and observation to determine the appropriate value for this setting.

The default value is 30, the range is between 20 and 80, and the warning level should be greater than the minimum level.

Minimum Level

Battery minimum level is the level of battery power in percentage at which a warning message appears and prevents data transfer when a data transfer session is initiated. This setting is enabled only when the Check Battery Status is enabled.

Many factors influence the battery level in terms of power: battery condition, battery capacity, unit configuration, power-savings options enabled, and so on. Use experimentation and observation to determine the appropriate value for this setting. However, the value should be set high enough to safely complete the longest data transfer session.

The default value is 20, and the range is between 10 and 70.

Memory Status

Memory status provides settings to configure and trigger warning messages for the memory level of the mobile device.

Check Memory Status

Check memory status checks on the total free memory before initiating a data transfer session.

• Tap to select Check Memory Status to enable memory status check.

• Tap to clear selected Check Memory Status to disable memory status check.

This setting is turned on by default.

Warning Level

Memory warning level is the level of total free memory in megabytes below which a warning message appears when a data transfer session is initiated. It is up to the user to continue or abort the data transfer session. This setting is enabled only when the Check Memory Status is enabled.

Many factors influence the memory level in terms of space available: apps running, memory capacity, unit configuration, memory-savings options enabled, and so on. Use experimentation and observation to determine the appropriate value for this setting.

The default value is 256, the range is between 200 and 1024, and the warning level should be greater than the minimum level.

Minimum Level

Memory minimum level is the level of total free memory in megabytes at which a warning message appears and prevents data transfer when a data transfer session is initiated. This setting is enabled only when the Check Memory Status is enabled.

Many factors influence the memory level in terms of space available: apps running, memory capacity, unit configuration, memory-savings options enabled, and so on. Use experimentation and observation to determine the appropriate value for this setting. However, the value should be set high enough to safely complete the longest data transfer session.

The default value is 100, and the range is between 100 and 1000.

Note: We recommend a minimum of 256 MB of difference between the warning and the minimum levels in case you change the default values.
