Condition Wizard: Text

A Condition whose Task is configured for the "Text" data type will appear as follows:

To configure this wizard, follow the steps below.

1. Click the drop-down list next to the label "Value" to select the comparison.

   

   The Condition will assess "true" as follows:

   <> : The text entered does not contain the specified string.

   = : The text entered contains the specified string.

2. Enter the desired value in one of the following manners:

   1. Use the Expression Editor to enter a formula returning a "Text" data type:

      • Click the button and select "Expression Editor."

      • Click the ellipsis button () to enter the Expression Editor.

      • Refer to The Calculation Expression Editor for instructions.

   2. Type the value into the provided text box.

   Important: The contents of the text box are treated as one string. Entering a linefeed will instruct the Wizard to look for text containing a linefeed at the specified point.

   

3. Optionally, configure an additional comparison by repeating the steps above for the lower "Value" item.
