Layout and display

  • Last UpdatedFeb 21, 2025

The calendar graphically displays the day, or date range, selected in the Range Selector.

  • Each month is connected to the next and previous months in a contiguous series of days and weeks in order to maintain the appearance and usability of the Calendar. The first day of a given month displayed is labeled with the month’s name.

  • Each week is divided into separate day columns. The main heading for these columns displays the day name for the column. Another heading appears above each row / week, indicating the date for each.

The current real-time day in the week header is highlighted gold.

  • Each day is divided into as many sections, or Cells, as Shifts displayed (See Filter by Shift for more information).

The Shifts, which are named during creation, are sorted from top to bottom by their start time.

Each intersection of a Shift’s row with a date’s column creates an individual Cell. Scheduled Procedures are then displayed by name in the Cell appropriate to their scheduling. Procedure Instances appearing in a given Cell are sorted according to their Status in the following order:

  1. Overdue

  2. Completed

  3. Active

  4. Missed

  5. New

Each Cell is subject to Role and Shift filters. See Learn about Schedule Manager filters and Crew overlay for more information.

Note: Procedures expected to take more than a day to complete will appear on the starting day. Likewise, any metrics for such Procedures (like the number of tasks completed) will be associated with the starting day.

Cells

Cells, and their contents, are displayed differently based on their status.

  • If a Cell represents a day outside of the month chosen in the Range Selector, it will be shaded darker than Cells representing days within the selected month. In the example below, the Range Selector is on May.

  • Cells selected with the mouse or keyboard are shaded blue.

    • An Unselected Cell is one that has not been selected with the mouse or keyboard.

    • A Selected Cell is one that has been selected with the mouse or keyboard. Functions such as Cut or Copy, if available, will affect Procedures within the selected Cell.

Procedures displayed within Cells also reflect particular attributes.

Cell Background

Selected Procedure Instances are always light blue; when not selected, Procedure Instances’ backgrounds will be colored as follows to indicate their Status and State:

  • White: The Procedure Instance is scheduled for the future, and work on it has not yet begun.

  • Green: The Procedure Instance has been completed.

  • Yellow: The Procedure Instance is Overdue (as specified during scheduling), but has not yet been Missed.

  • Red: The Procedure Instance has been Missed (not completed within the allotted time).

  • Blue: The Procedure Instance is currently Active.

  • Grey: The Procedure Instance is Suspended.

Cell and Text

Two other attributes indicate the status of a Procedure Instance:

  • The background may bear a black border on the left edge. This indicates that the Procedure Instance is the result of a Procedure On Demand initiated by the mobile application user.

  • The text of the Procedure appears in boldface when the Procedure Instance has been transmitted, but is In Progress.

  • An ellipsis will appear in the lower-right corner of the Procedure Instance if the Procedure has been given additional time to complete, as specified during scheduling.

  • A number in a blue box can appear at the right edge. This indicates that the Procedure Instance has been worked on multiple times. This is most likely to occur with Procedures On Demand, but can also affect Scheduled Procedures available to more than one mobile application user at the same time.

Icon

Procedure Instances can also appear with an icon, which conveys the same information as the background colors listed above, but assist in identification for those who have trouble differentiating between colors.

  • No Icon: The Procedure Instance is scheduled for the future, and work on it has not yet begun

  • Check Mark: The Procedure Instance has been completed.

  • Exclamation Point: The Procedure Instance is Overdue (as specified during scheduling), but has not yet been Missed.

  • X: The Procedure Instance has been Missed (not completed within the allotted time).

  • Clock: The Procedure Instance is currently Active.

  • Pause: The Procedure has been suspended and is not yet overdue.

Tool-tip

Hover the mouse pointer over a Procedure Instance in the Calendar to display the following information:

  • Name: The full name of the Procedure, as defined in the Procedure Builder.

  • Tasks Completed: Displays the text "X of Y tasks completed (Z possible)" where X is the number of tasks completed, Y is the number of tasks started but not completed, and Z is the total number of tasks in the Procedure.

  • Description: The description of the Procedure, as defined in the Procedure Builder. If no Description is defined, this line will be blank.
