Add Asset Type Properties

Asset Type Properties are categories into which Assets can be placed. They describe a data collection point on an Asset of a given type, and are used to link Assets across Procedures to enable Shared Data Points.

For example, while an Asset might be named "Pumps," and a child asset "Centrifugal Pumps," an Asset Type Property might be "Inlet Pressure." To assign an Asset Type Property and create a Shared Data Point:

  1. An Asset is assigned an Asset Type.

  2. That Asset Type is assigned an Asset Type Property.

  3. The Task Group or Task is assigned the Asset.

  4. The Asset Type Property is assigned the Task or Task Group.

Note: Groups are only allowed Asset Type Properties of data type "Status List," whereas Tasks are only allowed Asset Type Properties not of data type "Status List."

Note: Shared Data Points are not shared across Bases.

To add Asset Type Properties to an Asset Type, right-click an Asset Type and select "Add New Asset Type Property."

The "New Asset Type Property" item appears. Click its icon to select it and display the Asset Type Property Details.
