This utility is designed to run the scripts against an existing database. This utility is located in \Products\DatabaseScripts and must be copied to the host machine to run properly.
Launch the Database Scripts Installation Utility by first copying the entire DatabaseScripts directory to a folder on your computer. Then, double-click the DatabaseScript.exe file from the location to which you copied it.
"Run Scripts" tab:
A user can select the scripts they want to run and execute them against the selected database. Selection includes:
Connection string to the database
-
Type of action - Install/upgrade/plugin/repair
-
Selection of language
-
Selection of upgrades to run
-
Selection of plugins
-
Selection of timezone
"Script Trace" tab:
This section of the application allows you to view the status of all scripts run on the selected database for a specific time period. Use this part of the utility to troubleshoot script problems.
-
Set the Start Date to one day prior to the script run date to ensure that all of the scripts run on the target date are included.
-
Click Execute to display the script messages.
Entries that contain errors will be highlighted in yellow. Resting the mouse cursor over the text of the message will display more text of the error messages.
"SQL Scripts" tab:
This tab no longer serves a purpose and will likely be removed in a future version of AVEVA Mobile Operator.
"Comparison" tab:
This tab compares the structure of the AVEVA Mobile Operator database with a "baseline" database structure in order to identify anomalies still present after running scripts. This tab is intended for use by AVEVA Professional Services team. It will be of limited use to an end-user except as a tool for providing information to AVEVA representatives via the "Save" function.
Note: The Comparison tab may show errors in certain "localized" functions. Differences between the "localizedprocedurestatus," "localizedscheduledtotext," and "localizedyesno" functions may safely be ignored.
To get detailed information for an entry, double-click its row in the list. Another window will open, displaying the differences pertinent to that entry (highlighted in yellow) between the "Baseline" and current AVEVA Mobile Operator databases.
To export the information displayed on the Comparison tab, select "Save" from the "File" menu. After selecting this option, choose the destination for the XML file in the provided window, and then click the Save button.
Upon attempted execution of a script operation, the database scripts utility may return one of two errors. To troubleshoot the errors, see the topic Troubleshoot the database upgrade issues.
