Add Asset Types

To begin adding Asset Types, select List Manager → Edit → Asset Type. The Asset Type window will appear.
First, an Asset Type must be added to the root level. Right-click in the Asset Type window and select "Add new Asset Type to Root."

The root level "New Asset Type" item appears. Click its icon to select it and display the Asset Type Details.

Asset Type: This required field, which is limited to 50 characters and must be unique in its group (i.e. among its siblings), assists in identifying this Asset Type; for a Parent asset, an appropriate name might be "Building 3 Pumps."
The following read-only fields also appear on this page for the user’s reference.

Created By: The first, last, and username of the user who created this item.

Created On: The date and time that this item was first saved to the database.

Updated By: The first, last, and username of the user who last saved this item to the database.

Updated On: The date and time that this item was last saved to the database.

Application Owner: Indicates the mechanism responsible for the creation of this item, and will read "Procedure Builder" unless imported by an external system.
To the right of this grouping, a table displays all Asset Type Properties inherited by the selected Asset Type.

Tip: Inherited Properties can be dragged and dropped to the "Asset" or "Asset Type Property" fields on a Task Group or Tasks’s General tab if compatible.
After assigning a name to the root Asset Type, you can continue either to add additional root Asset Types by repeating the steps above, to add Child Asset Types, and/or Asset Type Properties.
