Considerations in accessing the SSRS reports for Azure Active Directory users

For Azure Active Directory users, you must consider the following points when accessing the SSRS reports.

  • The <username> in both Windows and Azure Active Directory login credentials must match.

For example: If in Windows, the user account is specified as “domain\<username>” and in Azure Active Directory, the user account is specified as “<username>@domain.com", the <username> specified for both the login credentials must match.

  • If an Azure Active Directory user with multiple domain names exists in the database, then the first domain name provided in the setting Domain Name for SSRS users takes precedence over the other domain names. If you want to access SSRS reports from other domain, then you may have to change the domain name order in the setting. For more information about the setting Domain Name for SSRS users, see Configure Security Settings.

For example: Consider a scenario, where you have a user defined as the following in the database:

    user@domain1.com, user@domain2.com, user@domain3.com

And in the setting DomainName for SSRS User, the order of the domain name is provided as:

    domain2.com, domain1.com, domain3.com

then, the user@domain2.com takes the precedence over user@domain1.com and user@domain3.com.
