Sync Reminder in the Mobile Application

The Sync button provided on the upper-right corner of the screen in the AVEVA Mobile Operator app is now enhanced to provide reminders for performing the sync operation. These reminders are provided either via dialog box or by blinking the Sync button.

In the following scenarios, the reminders will be provided via the Sync button:

When the user logs out from the AVEVA Mobile Operator app, then in the next login within the same base, the user will be prompted to sync the changes.

Note: The user will be reminded only if there are changes that are not synced in the mobile at the time of login.

• When the user sets a time via the Sync Reminder Duration settings in Management Center, then depending upon the time set, the user will be prompted to sync the changes before the shift ends. The time defined in this setting will be taken as x minutes before the shift ends. For example, consider that your shift ends at 12 PM and you have provided the time as 5 minutes in Sync Reminder Duration, then the Sync button on the AVEVA Mobile Operator app would start blinking at 11:55 AM, indicating that you need to perform a sync operation.

In the following scenario, the reminder will be provided via dialog box:

At the time of logging out of the AVEVA Mobile Operator app, if there is some data to sync, a dialog box will appear, asking the user to sync the changes. The user can either choose to sync and automatically log out by selecting Yes or log out by selecting No.

Note: If you are using seeded database, you must sync the application at least once after the installation. If not, the sync reminder will not work.

However, there are few points that you need to consider for the Sync Reminder feature:

• In the AVEVA Mobile Operator app, if the logged-in user continues to the next shift, then the sync reminder button will not blink even when it reaches the configured time.

  Workaround: For sync-reminder button to blink, you need to do one of the following:

  • Logout and login to the application again in the new shift.

  • Perform a full sync operation in the new shift.
