Important: Only System Permissions can be assigned directly to User Groups. Application Permissions must be assigned to the Bases associated to User Groups.
To assign System Permissions to User Groups, take the following steps.
Note: The following example shows the assignment of System Permissions to User Groups, cascading to all Bases assigned to that User Group. To assign System Permissions in the opposite association, use Base View.
-
Click the List Manager menu in Security Manager.
-
Click Permission Manager from the Edit option. The Permission Manager tab opens in the workspace.
-
Select Group from the View Type menu.
-
Click the desired Group in the right-hand pane to expand its details.
-
Click the "System Permissions" tab within the Group’s details.
-
(Optional) To assign all System Permissions, check the corresponding "Application Type" list item’s box. (See Checkboxes for details on the use and behavior of checkboxes.)
-
Click the desired "Application Type" to open the list of Permissions associated with that Application.
-
Check each Permission you wish to assign to this Group from the list on the right.
-
Click the File menu in Security Manager and select Save to save the changes. Alternately, you can press CTRL+S or right-click the tab and select Save.
