Asset Browser

Use Asset Browser to locate an asset, which can be a location or an equipment at a given base, from the hierarchy of assets.

To view the complete name of an Asset

  • Tap the title of the asset.

    An information message appears with the complete name of the asset.

Note: You can tap Close to close the information message, or tap Select to select the asset.

To access the children of an asset group

  • On the asset group, tap the Next button.

    The children of the asset group appear with the name of the parent in the Top bar.

To access the parent of an asset group

  • On the Top bar, tap the Previous button.

    The parent of the asset group appears.

Note: The Top bar appears with the name of the parent except in the root.

To access all the parents of an asset group

  • On the Top bar, tap the Hierarchy button.

    All the parents of the asset group appear.

Note: The Hierarchy button appears on the Top bar only in the second level of the hierarchy of assets.

To search an asset

  1. On the Overflow button, tap the Search button.

    The Search panel appears.

  2. In the Search box, type the search keyword.

  3. Tap a Search Filter, and then tap the Find button.

    The Results screen appears with matching assets without the hierarchy.

    Note: You can tap the Close button to close the Search panel.

To search an asset using a peripheral device

  • Press the trigger button on the peripheral device.

    The RFID of the asset is read by the peripheral device, and the Results screen appears with matching assets without the hierarchy.

Note: The trigger to read from the peripheral device may vary based on the peripheral device. However, the process remains the same. If you need help, refer to the User Manual of the peripheral device.

To search an asset using the Camera as Soft Trigger

  1. On the Action bar, tap the Scan Asset icon.

    The viewfinder screen appears.

    Note: If multiple soft trigger are configured for the node, tap the peripheral to scan the asset.

    1. Focus the barcode or QR code in the frame and wait till it is automatically scanned.

      The Results screen appears with matching assets without the hierarchy.

      Note: Tap the Flash icon to turn the Mobile Device Flash on or off. By default, the Mobile Device Flash is turned off.

      To search an asset using NFC

      • Take the NFC enabled device near the NFC tag.

        The mobile device scans the NFC tag of the asset, and the Results screen appears with matching assets without the hierarchy.

        Note: The NFC enabled device should be within 4 centimeters from the NFC tag to read the data accurately.

      Asset Browser Search Filter

      The Asset Browser Search filter helps to narrow search criteria for more specific search results. The search panel displays the list of filters and conditions.

      The following search filters appear on the left side of the search panel. You can select more than one filter.

      • Display Name

      • Asset ID

      • Description

      • EPC

      The right side of the search panel displays the search conditions. You can select any one of the conditions.

      • Starts with

      • Contains

      To close asset search results

      • On the Action bar, tap the Close button.

        The previous screen appears.

      To filter assets by asset type

      1. On the Top bar, tap the Filter icon.

        The Select Asset Type screen appears.

      2. Tap the Check button next to the asset type.

        The asset type is selected.

      3. On the Action bar, tap Done.

        The Select Asset screen appears with the filtered assets.

        To clear asset type filter

        1. On the Top bar, tap the Clear Filter icon.

          A confirmation message appears.

        2. Tap Yes.

          The Select Asset screen appears with all assets.

          To select an asset

          1. Tap the Check button next to the asset.

            The asset is selected.

          2. On the Action bar, tap Done.

            The screen that launched the asset browser appears.

            To view asset type properties

            1. Tap the title of the asset.

            2. On the Action bar, tap the Overflow button, and then tap Asset Type Properties.

              The Asset Type Properties screen appears.

              To view data points for asset type properties

              • On the Asset Type Properties screen, tap an asset type property to view its data point history.
